Our main partner in providing orthopaedic surgeries for our clients is a State Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics. It is a specialized hospital focusing on skeletal and soft tissue trauma, orthopaedics and spine surgery. This hospital is a true standard of high-quality, cost-effective and specialized care with focus on academic research and quick recovery. Since 2002 this hospital service quality is confirmed by ISO 9001:2000 certificate. The staff is highly motivated, friendly, competent, caring and English speaking.

Hospital mainly consists of the following departments: Joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery, hand surgery, spine surgery, trauma surgery, rehabilitation, intensive care and diagnostic imaging departments. And has 250 beds, 11 operating rooms and is the leader in orthopedic care in Latvia. Each year more than 10 000 operations are performed. All orthopedic, spinal and trauma implants furnished by leading international companies (DePuy, Zimmer, Smith&Nephew, Synthes, Aesculap, W.Link)

Joint replacement department performs 2 000 primary surgeries for hips, knees, shoulders, elbows and ankles. All modern techniques are available such as mini invasive surgery, hip resurfacing, unicondylar knees, mobile bearing implants and others. More than 200 endoprosthetic revision operations are accomplished for patients primary operated in all Latvian hospitals and abroad. Spine specialists are experienced in diagnosing and treating spine problems and the pain they cause, using all topical techniques such as minimaly invasive microdiscectomy (microdecompression), all kind and all level transpedicular fixations including percutaneus method, cervical and lumbar intervertebral disc prosthesis and vertebroplasty.

Because of all the above mentioned this hospital had easily passed our evaluation process and H&T approves that it has all the requirements needed to satisfy orthopaedic health needs of medical tourists visiting Latvia.
