As the American Society of Plastic Surgeons shows, 13% of US cosmetic surgeries performed in 2008 were on men. The most popular procedures on men were nose reshaping (75,000), eyelid surgery (31,000), liposuction (27,000), male breast reduction (18,000) and hair transplantation (13,000).

The local specialists report that the number of male visitors who are seeking cosmetic surgery has considerably increased. Plastic surgery is the type of industry, which traditionally was popular among women, but today it is not an emergency case when men come for surgery, which includes everything from faces, butts, male breast reduction, tummy tucks, and liposuction.

Beauty is the substance which needs to be supported during a lifetime, but it is not always enough with gym and spa. And it concerns both men and women. Not everyone enjoys the traditional ways of supporting the beauty such as morning jogging or pumping the dumbbells and not everyone can afford the modern ways of staying beautiful such as plastic surgery. Talking about men, it seems that they are feeling discriminated by women in the question of plastic surgery as once women felt discriminated by men in social sphere. And the number of 13% of cosmetic surgeries in USA proves that men tend to stay handsome as women want to be beautiful.

It doesn’t mean that only American men are so up-to-date that want and can afford the cosmetic surgery procedure. Europeans also follow the trend that beauty is a gift which can be gained through a lifetime. Thus they have an opportunity of taking a local plastic surgery. Even American men and other foreigners go to Europe in search of good and reasonably expensive surgery clinics. European medical tourism is becoming more popular despite the global economical crisis. People spend their vacations by not going to exotic islands but by taking medical trips to neighbor countries.

One of such countries is Latvia, which is one of the Baltic resort lands. Medical care in Latvia has always been of great quality and plastic surgery is not an exception. Producing good specialists and giving them an opportunity to work in their own country, Latvia has plenty of clinics which can solve any problems with your health and beauty, too. The management of medical and health care tourism in Latvia is in the hands of Health & Tourism, LLC.
